Spirit Lake Highway
Routes 504 (53 miles)
This east/west route gives way to spectacular views of lakes & rivers as it leads closer to Mount St. Helen National Monument. The road surface is very well maintained, and there are many opportunities to pull off at the various highway viewpoints for trails and more gorgeous views.
Shelton to Miller Peninsula
Route 101 (80 miles)
This portion of road runs alongside the eastern side of the Olympic Mountains. There are some great views of the Hood Canal. Many riders admit there is summer traffic to contend with, but the scenery is worth it. Many twists and curves, and is very well maintained.
Rattlesnake Pass
Routes 129 (42 miles)
This terrific, snaky, traffic-free motorcycle route will take you along the Snake River through the arid, hilly countryside near the Idaho border. There's some great views looking down into the Grande Ronde River Canyon, along with dozens of tight curves hugging along the steep walls of the valley. Optionally, continue riding south all the way into Enterprise, Oregon as Route 3 for more fantastic riding. (See OREGON)
