Prompton to Milford
Eastern Route 6 (39 miles)
While the entire Grand Army of the Republic road could be added as a great motorcycle road, many would say this eastern section is its best. Traverse through mountains, the Pine Creek Gorge, and the forested areas of the northern Pocono Mountains.
Lincoln Highway
Route 30 (60 miles)
This historic road offers sweeping turns, grand views and long straightaways. The best of this route is between Breezewood and Route 75 junction. but most consider it roadworthy further east to Chambersburg. Either way, history is embedded in this transcontinental highway, and this section will provide charming country towns along the way.
Lancaster Loop
Routes 340, 10, 23 (52 miles)
This loop takes you through some scenic countryside into Amish country. PA-23 and PA-340 has some wide open stretches with fine views of farmlands and hills. Overall, the pavement is very good quality along this route, and makes for an enjoyable ride.
US-40
Route 40 (66 miles)
Tall trees and hills occupy much of this historic scenic road near Pennsylvania's Allegheny Mountains. The southern portion of this route crosses the Youghiogheny River Lake and Fort Necessity National Battlefield, while the western side has some vast sweeping views of the open countryside. The pavement quality is very good as well.
